MARSELAN RESERVE, RECANATI 2016

$380.00

Marselan is a cross between the “wild” Grenache and the “aristocratic and elegant” Cabernet Sauvignon. It originated at the start of the 1960s in the South of France. This is an impressive and powerful Mediterranean wine.
Grape Variety: 100% Marselan
Winemaking Notes: Marselan grapes are relatively new in Israel. Recanati Winery unvailed the first harvest of this variety in 2012, and we continue to be impressed by its power. To restrain the strong vines and generate low yield, the vineyard is thinned during the ripening period. From the remaining grapes we receive the array of unique flavors and aromas characteristic of this variety. The wine is matured for 12 months in French oak barrels – approximately half of which are new, and then bottled after coarse filtration alone.

Tasting Notes: The wine has an inimitable flowery aroma, round tannins, and tastes of berries and Mediterranean herbs. Our Marselan boasts a score of 90 points from the renowned wine critic, Robert Parker, in “Wine Advocate
