The 2009 Chapelle-Chambertin is also outstanding this year, as the wine soars from the glass in a deep and sappy blend of black cherries, plums, chocolate, woodsmoke and a very stylish base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure, with lovely mid-palate complexity, a great core of sappy fruit, ripe tannins and outstanding length and grip on the finish. Another superb effort.
